archive seasons

In web we can simply show seasons that we want to in structured menu nu in App it is a single list.

We need to have ability to set season as archived.

Only show Current/Active Seasons with an Archive field to go to previous seasons as users will only be interested in a season that has finished on a few occasions throughout a current season

Suggestion - Add a Yes/No Archive field for a season in admin and if Yes, the season does not appear in the option list for the app

Hi Richard, I wandering if this suggestion would work only for app? it is strange you don't show archive at one place (App) but show on another (web)

I also agree showing the long list of all Seasons is very inconvenient solution and agree that that we need to do something with old seasons that are visited rarely.

May be some better solution would be to put marker on archive season and then in JoomSport and App show one new menu item "Show archive" instead of all archive seasons. Once anybody click this item it will load the full list of seasons... This is my solely idea and not sure if developer like it but think it is more user friendly.

Fair point and your idea sounds perfectly fine to me, basically any simple process that allows users to always see active seasons and choose to see archived seasons as well is an ideal option.

Hi Richard,

We have developed the feature. It will be added to your App within the next update.

We have created the option (multiple choice) so you can select seasons that appears in Calenar and Standings. Team and Player stats season selector is working the way it was before

Perfect, thank you

Do you know when the the next iOS and Android app update will be?

Richard, It was delivered to you during your last App update. At least as far as i see that from your Mobile add-on settings. You can check yourself by opening Joomla back end -> JoomSport -> Mobile App -> configuration

Ah ok, i see the option and how it works, thank you.

A couple of questions:

1. I don't see an Archive option in the app if the user would like to see previous seasons (as mentioned in posts above)?

2. I thought (may have misunderstood) the user was going to be able to multi select in options the seasons he wants to exclude in the Standings/Calendar dropdown box as not all of current active seasons would be relevant? Is that something that is still to be added?

[I select in admin the seasons that are current and the rest are in the archive, with current seasons appearing in the app dropdown boxes and archive seasons in the 'Show Archive' app Menu/location. The user can go into app options to select the seasons he wants to exclude from the 'current' list and the 'archive list' or view all items as selected in the Joomla admin]

we have added the following functionality:

There is no definition "archive". You can only select(filter) what seasons you want to display in dropdown on Calendar and Standings pages in side the App. Player and team page works as it was before - it displays the seasons where team / player participated.

So:

If you didn't select season in JoomSport Mobile settings, users will never be able to see this seasons standings or calendar inside the App.

It is not exactly what was expected with "Archive" but it is better then having huge drop down list with all the seasons in there. We might add "archive seasons" button down as the last option inside the drop down in future releases. It makes sense, we agree.

OK understood, in the meantime we will ask our users to let us know if they need to see any archive seasons and if so, we will add them. It will also provide good feedback as to if they really 'need' it or is it a 'want/nice to have' feature.

The user option to select in options is not something we need now, but in 2019 we expect to have 100-150 leagues and a user would only be interested in their own plus national leagues, so possibly 10 at most, so perhaps an option to consider for next year.

Yep. That would be perfect if we know this. Thank you!
