Essential, should be a core item.
Suggestion - Use team name in calendar view as a link (team names are unique) to provide the same list but only for that team for that season and when in the team view for that season, a dropdown filter allows matches any or all seasons for that team to be selected. Use load restriction to only show (100 max?) at a time
